About Me

 

Hi, I'm Carla 🙋‍♀️

I'm 32 years old, I'm from Portugal and I live in the Netherlands with my husband Ruben and my cats - Loki and Leja.

I taught myself crochet in 2020 during the pandemic.

My long time friends, Carolina and Bia, love crochet items as well, so they began to order several different things, like Amigurumi and Christmas decorations that required different crochet technics. And the more I learned, the more I realised I had a talent for it - and it became a passion.

They were my first customers and many more followed.

In 2021 I started Carlita's Hook as a side job.

 I chose this name because: a hook is the most important tool in crochet, and my late grandmother Maria used to call me Carlita, which made me feel happy and warm, and I wanted my shop to feel like that.

Due a chronic health condition I am not able to have a normal 9 to 5 job, and Carlita's Hook allows me to work from home while doing something I love and taking care of my health.

In August of 2024

I officially became a Small Business Owner and I now work full time making and selling my crochet creations.
